From an early age I have been passionate about sports and fitness. My competitive drive led me to succeed as an athlete in bodybuilding, wrestling, and football. Over the years, I've been in numerous gyms and have watched people make many different mistakes, also making many of my own. I've learned how to correct these mistakes not only through textbook knowledge, but most of all experience. There is a lot to learn within the fitness industry, even on a professional level. Specializing in physique sculpting, and post-physiotherapy instruction leaves no room for error. Results happen! How much work are you willing to put in? Being an active child, involved in hockey, soccer, karate, and MMA one might think I was physically fit but this is not the case. I indulged in every kind of junk food I could get my hands on and my weight had become a serious health issue. Although I had the support from those around me, and put effort into different dieting methods, nothing worked. When I first started practicing yoga in 2012, it as very challenging for me. I felt inflexible, weak, self-conscious, and uncoordinated. Honestly, I thought it wasn't for me. But with patience, practice and determination, I improved and started to understand that it wasn't about competing or being better than another. Yoga it's a personal practice. You just have to listen to your body and what it can handle. My hopes for any class participant is that you experience some of the wonderful benefits, as I have. Although I have always worked to keep myself fit and am a gym goer, I never took a liking to cardio (besides a bit of running). That all changed in 2008 when I was introduced to Zumba Fitness. I loved it instantly. It was a lot of fun, got my heart rate up, and since it didn't feel like your typical fitness class, the time flew by. Zumba impacted my life so much that I worked towards and acquired my Zumba instructor licence the following year. It wasn't long before I was hired for my first teaching job and the rest is history! I still enjoy teaching all variations of Zumba and encourage you to escape for an hour while dancing away to the beat of Latin music. My hope is to inspire others, help people along on their fitness journey, and have a blast at the same time.
